This week on Tuesday, I received what Ashley said was going to be my Mothers day gift delivered a little late, cuz she ordered it late.. so I was figuring it would be a box of some kind delivered.. And when I arrived home from work, there was a box that had been delivered. Only it was something that I had ordered. Now in the morning, I had seen she had posted on facebook "leaving on a jet planneeeee" and I kind of wondered and than text a good friend, "do you think the delivery is her?" So when I returned home and the box wasn't from her, it was about 40 minutes later that Shane drove up in the driveway and sure enough, Ashley was with him.. There first stop after airport was In-N-Out burger to satisfy one of the MISSING things in her life.. It was good to hug her in person tightly (and than she dug into her sandwich)
She crammed a lot into the three days she was in CA., we quickly went and got a pedicure/manicure. Than she ran over to visit cousin Dawn.. When she returned, after being up for 36 hours, she collapsed into what "used to be her room, now a guest room" and slept. Wednesday I had to work and she had a full day scheduled of visiting a High School friend Val and her 6 month old daughter Brooke.. and than to OC to visit her friend Briana for dinner.
Thursday morning while I asked for the day off to spend the morning with her, I had to go to the office and so I did. At 3:30am in order to finish off a last minute project for verification.. so I headed back home at 7:30am and Ashley and I went to breakfast at Ruby's on the end of the Seal Beach pier, and than decided to head down to San Clemente to the Rainbow outlet for new sandals..
We raced down there and back in about an hour 15 minutes when it's really 45 minutes both directions and WE SHOPPED.. But I had to be back to hitch a ride to a HS baseball game for first round playoffs in Murrieta. Ashley was going to dinner with another HS friend Kristy who she had been in her wedding the year before.
It was a disappointing loss of the HS baseball team, mostly because three starting players decided to do something selfish that morning before they were to report for the bus. They were suspended from the game.. so lineup shuffle on defense and offense just didn't work out for the Wilson team and they suffered a difficult loss to end there cinderella season.
Friday my parents had come back from being up north at my sister Stacy's in order to see her. They were taking her out to breakfast, so Shane and I tagged along.. after breakfast I drove her to the airport for her return flight to Austin, TX.. She had a tight flight schedule and than to report to work at 11pm after landing in Austin at 9ish, and an 1.5 hr drive to the base. Her uniform was in her car at the airport to eliminate the trip home.
wow, what a whirlwind few days she had off from her hospital schedule to come to CA.. we enjoyed her visit very much and she enjoyed catching up with CA life..
