Tuesday morning

I should be in the shower so I can get some errands run before lunch with a friend, but I can also get them done afterwards.. (I've lost my ability to stick to a plan A and opting for the plan B as good enough)

Okay so I got up with the alarm at 5:30 am and with shorts, tennis shoes and a sweat shirt out of the WARM dryer, headed out the door at 6am with Virginia.   Who drove up not in her SUV in the driveway to avoid a street sweeper ticket, but in a silver BMW 325i..  it kind of threw me as to who it might be but than realized it was Virginia..   Sweet..  and it was a GIFT from her boss the dr who had to get a Lexus and so Virginia asked about buying her old car and she instead says "oh I am going to give it to you from the practice"..  can you believe that, she works hard and that is a great bonus..

So we walked our old route through a residential and while I had done it once before on my own (wishing I hadn't chosen it) we both made it fine...  Now my realization when I got up was that after 10 months of really just snoozing until later in the morning unless I had something to get up for..  And nothing comes up to get me out of bed at 5:30am I assure you.  News flash: THE SUN ISN'T EVEN UP at that ungodly hour!

When I got home, and after we continued to talk in the driveway since Greg came out to admire her new car..  I fired up the WII and went through the body test, and than proceeded to just do some simple balance stuff..  What I realized is that while the damn thing is very accurate to my scale, I turned OFF the volume so as to not announce it's comments.

I did about 15 runs down the slalom course for which you have no idea where your going from the top sight unseen.. and my first run sucked I don't think I made it through even 4 of the gates correctly and so was humiliated as it declared me "unbalanced".  Many would agree with that..  But I only moderately improved, starting to follow the dot in the balance status box on the screen, making less drastic turns which just sent me off course terribly at times.  Surprisingly, I advanced from beginner to expert somehow.. I'd like to say things were much improved but theres alot of activity going on at one time on the screen and my LEANING needed not be so extreme and that was hard to control, the faster I leaned into the balance mode wow your speed increases and so...  Once I saw that I was an amatuer (a step above unbalanced) and than regressed..  You don't burn alot of calories doing poorly, while I disagree because I was working hard to get back on course more often than if I had done it correctly like they wanted.. so because I could, I quit that exercise ~ did you catch that I had also walked a couple of miles before hand, so I was good with that accomplishment.

I than moved on to the golf driving range.. almost afraid what this would render my ability to be.. and while life can imitate art.. I have found that WII can imitate life as well.  I carefully watched the instructions and low and behold.. After the first swing, I was congratulated that I had great balance and my swing was as a pro..  Now I hit about 15 balls and had a good approach onto the green each time and accolades from guy in the screen writing his responses to me (I had muted him remember) so I too quit while I was doing good..  This was what I had wanted to encourage me after a louzy ski performance, regardless of the olympic spirit ablaze, I know my limits..

But I got my stamp on the WII calendar for completing another session and that is what counts, at least until I step back up to take the body test again tomorrow and see the results..  I have a 2 month goal set and so only two weeks into it..

well, now for that shower and lunch and THAN errands..  oh and finding the luggage for tomorrows packing..  do you burn calories packing?  I hope so..
