This morning I called Natalie the scheduler to see if we were still on for the preop appt on Tuesday (I knew we weren't, but she had said to hold onto it for now).. so it is cancelled and this is what they are working on BEFORE it gets faxed to Aetna. Nov 17 was original surgery date.
Natalie has contacted several times the Genzyme company seeking successful reports and case studies on the success of this procedure being done (don't know if they are the cadaver bone or cartilage cell provider). But that she is also accumalating my own case notes and pictures to place in the letter. She said that while this is a sloooow process, that my case is moving along much faster and with more fervor than any of the other ones they are seeking approval for.. So that was assuring, and I'd truly like to offer my services in there office to make it go faster... She said to call her back next week and that she would let me know if they had it finalized and/or it was being sent. And to HANG IN THERE, she understands that it is painful and getting is done before end of year.
So I will wait and continue to trust that this won't be a 17 week wait as predicted (3 weeks and counting)
