new direction on epidural's

At the Pain Management group 7 weeks ago for the first time I saw a PA (physician's assistant) and she conferred with the orthopedic that epidurals treatments were called for to resolve pain from herniation in disc's. Had the epidural a month ago, no change but it was a one of three plan. Today I see the Dr. Kim and he says that he would not have recommended the epidurals, but instead a different course of treatment which his conviction as to it giving the best results and quickly know if it works.... but it's 8 injections, ugh, called cervical facet steroid injections.

If it's as easy and quick as the last time, I will be hopeful! So 1pm is the appointment at surgicenter.

Wow Lorinda, it sounds like you are really struggling with your back and the pain. I saw a guy who did my neck when they had me scheduled for surgery and on so much medication I couldn't even function...he gave me 3 treatments and no surgery yet...on a scale of 1 to 10 - really I have annoyance pain more than anything with my blown disc in my neck. The chiropracter actually works with your atlas and realigns your spine. I don't know if it would be helpful for you but I have had so much relief it's not even funny...and no surgery! I am not a doc so have no clue if this would be for you but you could check into it...I thought my friend at work was full of crap when he recommended this guy but it was my last ditch effort to avoid surgery. If you are interested you can go to www.atlasorthogonality.com and go to the patients, then click at the top where you can find a doctor. If you look in Minnesota there are two and mine is Dr. Saggau. Look at his qualifications and try to find someone in California close to you that has the Sherman schooling or has studied with Dr. Sweat. I know you probably gets lots of advice from people so take it as you will? Good luck!
